Why Nebraska City?

It’s home to the Arbor Lodge State Historical Park lilac collection, Nebraska’s largest public lilac collection and the nation’s second largest public lilac collection for total number of diverse cultivars. It’s also home to the private lilac collection at Arbor Day Farm. Both lilac collections were started by International Lilac Society members in the 1990s, and they have been restored by current ILS members. Since 2024, Arbor Day Farm has hosted the annual Bloom Fest, held in conjunction with bloom time and Arbor Day, to celebrate the apple blossoms and lilacs in bloom across the Farm and the Park.

A lilac experience like no other

Overnight accommodations, meals, and educational seminars will be at the nature-inspired Lied Lodge. Overlooking the forested Arbor Day Farm, the sophisticated lodge features cozy rooms, modern amenities, and inviting meeting spaces. Explore the nature trails, savor the season’s best flavors in the on-site restaurant and lounge, take in live music on the expansive patio, splash in the indoor swimming pool, relax in the spa, make memories around the firepit, and so much more. The Lied Lodge offers beautiful nature views and a peaceful retreat in the heart of nature.
